Mostafa Azimitabar and Farhad Bandesh are Kurdish refugees imprisoned for years in immigration detention, first on Manus Island and later in Australia. This film is a powerful exploration of the two men; of the torture they endured, of their efforts to maintain their integrity and life. Their hauntingly beautiful music and poetry allow the viewer to glimpse the profound importance of their Kurdish identity as they explore how their own artistic energies have been core to their survival, as well as a belief in the power of love and our shared humanity.
