A mesmerising film about art, love, motherhood, friendship, sexuality, representation and how to succeed in a world dominated by patriarchy, capitalism and war without losing oneself. Filmed over the course of 13 years, Lea Glob’s dynamic and intimate portrait of figurative painter Apolonia Sokol charts the parallel evolution of both women. Apolonia grew up in a bohemian Parisian theatre founded by her parents and from a young age knew her destiny as an artist. But her journey is far from rosy; it will take courage and persistence for her to finally find who she really is.

Winner of 11 awards
