HOW TO WATCH

This year the festival is online only, and we are using Eventive (an online platform to watch films).

BUYING A PASS OR TICKET FOR THE FESTIVAL
To buy tickets/passes, you need to login to Eventive. You will be asked for your email, and to create an account if you don’t already have one (it’s quick, and you only have to do it once).

Once you have your pass, or if you want a ticket for an individual film, you click on ‘Book now’ for that film (after the festival starts you click on ‘Unlock now’). If you have a Festival Pass it the system will automatically detect it and the ticket price will be zero.

WHEN CAN I WATCH & HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WATCH?
All the films are available from 6am on Friday 19 March to 11:59pm on Sunday 21 March. Once you click ‘watch now’ you have 48 hours to finish, and you can watch as often as you like during that time. So if you click ‘watch now’ at 11.58pm on Sunday you’ll have until 11.58pm on Tuesday to finish (but you do have to start before the 11.59pm cut off!).

The 'suggested watch times' in the programme notes are just suggestions to help you fit in as many films as possible, but you can watch whenever and however you like.

WHAT ABOUT Q&As?
Most
Q&As will be recorded before the festival and will start automatically after the film – or you can watch before or later by scrolling down next to the film box.

If it's a LIVE Q&A it will be happening at the time it says, and you can join in and ask questions. The recording will stay there, so you can watch them any time afterwards.

TECHNICAL HELP

For information on how to use your device, plus system requirements, use the EVENTIVE HELP,  Once you're there you can scroll to the bottom to access their online live-chat service.

FILMS KEEP STOPPING

If you have trouble loading the films or they keep stopping, click on the settings in the bottom right corner of the screen (sometimes it looks like a little wheel, and sometimes it’s three dots).

If you have the little wheel: select the little blue arrow next to ‘Video Quality’
If you have three dots: select ‘Resolution’.

‘Auto’ will be selected to start with. If it’s been going slow or buffering, you need to choose a lower number, usually either 720 or 420.

Try again and we hope it’s better! The smallest number will be fastest, but lower quality, so if it looks a bit
wonky try one step up.

NEED MORE HELP?

Phone our Film Fest Angels on 07868 586932 from 9am to 10pm during the festival.
